Chappell Roan Turns Met Gala Into The Pink Pony Club In 'Glitzy' Debut

Chappell Roan turned the 2025 Met Gala into her very own "Pink Pony Club" during her "glitzy" debut.

The "Giver" singer stunned on the carpet while attending the Gala for her very first time on Monday (May 5), wearing a bold and glittering pink ensemble created by Pat McGrath, per Vogue. She also worked with iconic designer Paul Tazewell, who earlier this year won an Oscar for his costume work on Wicked, to source part of her fabulous look from eBay.

She first arrived in a pink patchwork coat trimmed in feathers and glitter before losing the coat to show off her matching suit while walking up the iconic stairs into the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Roan's metallic makeup shined bright, with rhinestone eyebrows accentuating the exaggerated silver glitter shadow and colorful swirls down her cheeks.

"We channeled the glamour and freedom of the disco era — think Sylvester, Superfly, superfine tailoring, and unapologetic shine," McGrath said of the look. "We layered shimmering metallics with illustrated wings, chrome lashes, and rhinestone accents. It's maximalist, metallic, and made to move."

The theme for the 2025 Met Gala is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," coinciding with the Costume Institute's new spring exhibition which was inspired by Monica L. Miller's 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. Guests are encouraged to follow the dress code "Tailored For You," which Vogue notes is a reference to the exhibit's focus on menswear and is "purposefully designed to provide guidance and invite creative interpretation."

Alongside Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, this year's event, which is a benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, is co-chaired by rapper A$AP Rocky, actor Colman Domingo, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton and producer Pharrell Williams as well as NBA star LeBron James as an honorary co-chair.
