The Game has officially lost his home in California after a judge approved its sale to help satisfy a multimillion-dollar judgment to Priscilla Rainey.
According to legal documents AllHipHop published on Monday, May 5, a Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge granted Rainey’s request to sell the property after the rapper, born Jayceon Taylor, tried to avoid paying $7.13 million in damages. The decision came down nearly a decade after a judge made a default judgment in Rainey's sexual assault lawsuit against the "Eazy" artist. Rainey sued the rapper, born Jayceon Taylor, in 2015 for allegedly sexually assaulting her while they filmed his VH1 reality show "She’s Got Game."
The Game denied Rainey's allegations and declined to appear in court to face trial in 2016. His refusal to attend the trial led to a default judgment. Rainey was awarded $1.13 million in compensatory damages for the alleged assault and $6 million in punitive damages after Game was accused of disrespecting the court for ditching the trial.
After he was ordered to pay up, Rainey went after The Game's assets to fulfill the payment including his businesses, music royalties, and his one-story house in Calabasas. His legal team previously argued the house was owned by JTT Holdings, LLC., not him, and is protected under California's homestead exemption. However, Rainey's attorney alleged JTT Holdings, LLC. was a shell company that The Game and his manager Wack 100 established to keep Rainey from seizing it.
Rainey's request to sell the home was approved by a judge last Friday. Zillow lists the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home at just over $4 million. Even if Rainey does sell the house, The Game will still owe her $3 million. As of this report, The Game has not commented on the ruling.
