Wolfgang Van Halen's band Mammoth (fka Mammoth WVH) put out a new song on Thursday (May 1) called "The End." The track features a guitar tapping solo that would make Wolfgang's late father, Eddie Van Halen, proud.

“I’ve had the tapping idea on the intro for ‘The End’ since before Mammoth,” Wolfgang said via a press release. “I was able to fit it into this world. It’s still over-the-top and shreddy, but it’s also melodic and controlled. Overall, I was doing some different things on the record, and I knew this was going to be a big step. Once we finished ‘The End,’ it felt really special to me.”

In a new post on X, Wolfgang revealed that he actually recorded that part with his dad's iconic red-and-white striped Frankenstein guitar, known as the "Frankenstrat."

"Fun fact, I recorded the main tapping of the song, and the slap part with the Frankenstein!" he captioned a behind-the-scenes clip of him tracking the part with the beloved instrument. "Makes me feel closer to Pop that such an important part of his history can live with mine every time I record."

Mammoth's currently on the road supporting Seether and are set to play support on Creed's tour this summer before heading on their own headlining US tour in the fall. See Wolfgang's post below.
