Popular rock band 3 Doors Down has canceled its summer tour, including a planned stop in Syracuse after lead singer Brad Arnold announced he has stage four kidney cancer. The band was set to perform with Creed at the Empower FCU Amphitheater at Lakeview on Friday, July 11. However, Arnold's diagnosis of clear cell renal carcinoma, which has spread to his lungs, has forced the band to cancel their appearances.

Arnold, 46, shared the news in a heartfelt video message, expressing his faith and lack of fear despite the serious diagnosis. "We serve a mighty God, and He can overcome anything," Arnold said, asking fans to keep him in their prayers. He also referenced the band's hit song, "It's Not My Time," as a source of personal inspiration during this challenging time.

The announcement comes just a week before the tour was scheduled to kick off in Daytona Beach, Florida. While Creed is still expected to perform, it remains unclear if another act will replace 3 Doors Down for the tour dates. Fans and fellow musicians have shown an outpouring of support for Arnold, with messages of encouragement and prayers flooding social media.

Arnold's cancer, clear cell renal cell carcinoma, is the most common type of kidney cancer and is treated with surgery, immunotherapy, and other targeted therapies. The five-year survival rate for this cancer is significantly lower when it spreads to other parts of the body, as in Arnold's case.

For now, fans are left hoping for Arnold's recovery and looking forward to the possibility of seeing 3 Doors Down back on stage in the future. Anyone who needs to talk can call 800-273-8255 no matter the time of day.
