Lainey Wilson shared an emotional moment backstage with her fiancé, former pro football quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges, after her Entertainer of the Year victory at the milestone 60th ACM Awards on Thursday evening (May 8).

The Whirlwind powerhouse took home several awards throughout the evening, including continuing her Entertainer of the Year reign for the second consecutive year. Wilson appeared teary-eyed as she and Hodges embraced backstage after her coveted win. The Academy of Country Music shared a glimpse of that moment, which took place as Rascal Flatts and Backstreet Boys joined forces to close out the star-studded show.

Wilson also won the Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (Whirlwind) and Artist-Songwriter of the Year categories. She took the stage for two powerful performances, including “Whirlwind,” the title track of her latest award-winning studio record, and “Trailblazer,” a new collaboration with Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire. The anthem serves as “a heartfelt tribute to the pioneering women of country music who paved the way for future generations,” reads a press release issued after the show. It “celebrates the strength, resilience, and individuality of female artists, blending vivid imagery and deep emotion to honor their legacy and express gratitude for the paths they forged.”
