Family, friends, and fans of LGP QUA are still in mourning after the young rapper was shot and killed on Mother's Day.

The 30-year-old artist, born Qidere Johnson, was murdered during a shooting that occurred at Juniata Park in Northern Philadelphia. According to ABC 6 Action News, the rising rapper known as the "Voice of the Youth" was with a friend when they were approached by three men who tried to rob them. The robbery turned deadly after one of the suspects shot QUA in the chest. He was rushed to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Meek Mill was one of the first artists to mourn him on social media.

"Killing ambitious young bulls like this on Mother's Day is a Philly type of thing," Meek Mill wrote in his Instagram Story. "S**t will make you different. Prayers to your family, and let's collect some of them guns. S**t sad out here."

Host of Million Dollaz Worth of Game Gillie The King also spoke out following QUA's passing. He reflected on the Philly native's peaceful raps and claimed the suspects will be captured quickly.

"Rest in peace to LGP QUA," Gillie said. "It's just crazy out here in Philly that, you know, it's coming out that some youngins tried to rob him for his chains and ended up killing him. To the youngins that did it, it's like, y'all can't even go sell the chains. You can't even get rid of the chains so y'all killed the man for nothing. And just know, he was a man who talked peace on the streets. So y'all got about like a week before y'all get caught."

LGP QUA was a rapper who began to gain notoriety for his music inspired by life in the streets. He was praised by top-notch MC's for rapping about social injustice, his stance on guns, and other real-life topics that uplifted his fans. He's appeared on platforms like On The Radar Radio numerous times and killed every freestyle he made. Following his death, several artists like Swizz Beatz, Immortal Technique, Kid Capri, Neek Bucks, Dee-1 and more paid tribute to him on his Instagram page.

"S**t wack man rest up King 🕊️🕊️🕊️," Swizz wrote.

"I am so hurt behind this," Kid Capri said. "Wow, I can’t believe it, on Mother’s Day too, imagine what his mother is going through,,, so bad!"

"This is so heartbreaking," Dee-1 commented. "i’m praying for Philly and praying for this young brother’s family. We gotta do better 😔💔🙏🏽"

Rest in peace, LGP QUA. Check out his On The Radar freestyle below.
