Have you visited the most "boring" tourist trap in all of California?

Because "boring" can mean something different to every traveler, this destination is admired by some and detested by others.

Tourists often choose destinations based on elements they think will fascinate them, only to arrive and find a place very different from what they initially anticipated.

Be it distinctive history or sheer popularity, something about this well-known California location drew people in, and they walked away with an experience far from what they imagined. Some are disappointed with their experience, and others are interested and cannot wait to tell their friends and family.

According to a list compiled by Cheapism, the most overrated tourist destination in California is Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.

Here's what Cheapism had to say about the most "boring" tourist destination in the entire state:

"Fisherman's Wharf traces its history to the 1800s, when it was the home base of San Francisco's fishing fleet, but it has evolved over the years into tourism central. When it's possible to visit again, expect it to be riddled with overpriced junk for sale, with street vendors preying on unsuspecting tourists and too many people to make it comfortable to walk around. Check out these fun, budget-friendly options in the Golden State, instead."
