Toni Braxton Goes Viral Over Her Controversial Graduation Outfit

Toni Braxton has social media buzzing over the outfit she wore to her son's graduation.

Over the weekend, Braxton took to Instagram to celebrate her son, Diezel, 22, graduating from Howard University.

Braxton shared footage from the graduation, including the moment her son walked across the stage to receive his diploma and her family celebrating the achievement.

"I got the best Mother's Day gift!" Braxton wrote. "My son is officially a HOWARD UNIVERSITY GRADUATE!!"

"I'm so proud of you @diezel.braxton and can't wait to see all of the amazing things you'll accomplish!" she added.

While many of Braxton's followers applauded Diezel's accomplishment, others called attention to the controversial outfit the singer decided to wear to the graduation. Video shows Braxton wearing a sheer button-up blouse, a see-through lace skirt, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses.

"What in the holy moly is that she’s wearing????" one Instagram user questioned.

"Dressed like it’s a pimps funeral. What be wrong with people these days?? Like for real. THIS is weird. No Sun dress. No pant suit. Nothing light and motherly. THIS!" another user said.

"I love THE Toni Braxton but respectfully, what does she have on at her son’s graduation?" a third person chimed in.

Others defended the singer in comments, saying the focus should be on Diezel's graduation.

"Whoever is critiquing Ms Toni's outfit is focusing on the wrong thing..." one social media user said in part.

"Who cares what she had on she's Toni Braxton. What a major accomplishment!" another person wrote.
