Usher and Lil Boosie Receive Honorary Doctorates

R&B icon Usher was awarded an honorary doctorate from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Emory recognized Usher for his decades-long music career and his commitment to giving back through his non-profit organization, Usher’s New Look. The organization helps young people become leaders by providing education, mentorship, and real-world experiences. Usher also delivered the keynote speech at Emory’s 2024 graduation ceremony, where he inspired students with words of encouragement and wisdom for the future.

Meanwhile, rapper Lil Boosie, also known as Boosie Badazz, received not one but two honorary doctorate degrees from Kingdom Heritage University, a Christian-based school in Florida. Boosie was honored with degrees in music composition and music management, highlighting his long-standing impact on hip-hop and Southern rap.

Boosie has been a powerful voice in the music industry for over 20 years. He proudly shared the news with his fans on social media, dressed in a cap and gown while holding both diplomas.
