Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura testified about the time when Sean "Diddy" Combs allegedly threatened to harm Kid Cudi and blow up his car after she got into a relationship with the rapper.
On Wednesday, May 13, Ventura sat on the witness stand for day two of her testimony during Combs' sex trafficking trial. She told the jury she started dating Cudi, born Scott Mescudi, in 2011. She was still participating in Combs' freak-offs at the time. During one of their sessions, Combs went through her phone and found out about their relationship. Combs allegedly became enraged and lunged at her with a wine bottle opener.
“Too much danger, too much uncertainty of what could happen if we continued to see each other,” she said on the stand, per The New York Times.
Ventura alleged Combs threatened to harm both her and Mescudi after he discovered their relationship. "Brother Love" also threatened to release two extremely explicit videos from their sex parties. She said Combs made good on his threat towards her and attacked her at his home. When she fled to the hotel room she was staying at, Ventura walked in to find it was destroyed with feces and urine in the bathroom.
The "Long Way 2 Go" singer also said Combs threatened to blow up Mescudi's car. Ventura claimed Combs told her they would be out of the country when the car would be blown to bits and that he wanted Mescudi’s friends to be there when it happened. The "Day N Night" rapper's car actually did explode in his driveway in February 2012. When Combs' threat to blow up Mescudi's was revealed in Ventura's lawsuit in 2023, Mescudi's rep confirmed the account. “This is all true,” the rep said.
Ventura said the last time she saw Mescudi was at SoHo House during a meeting with her and Combs. “What about my vehicle?” Mescudi asked, per Ventura. “What vehicle?” Combs responded. That's how the meeting ended.
Ventura is currently on the stand facing questions from the defense as the fourth day of Combs' trial continues. The veteran artist is facing five counts of sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution and racketeering. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges. If convicted, he could face life in prison.
