Audrey McGraw’s debut single offers the rising singer’s take on a 1970s ballad by Neil Diamond.

McGraw, 23, released her powerful cover of “I Am... I Said” on Friday (May 16). Diamond, 84, wrote the classic and released it on his seventh studio record in 1971. McGraw said earlier this week “the first time I heard this song, I felt something deep in my soul. One late night, sitting at the piano, I made it a part of me. In the studio we brought it to life.” She thanked “crazy, talented” David BaronRenée HikariKyle Emerson and Jeff Hill.

McGraw’s father, country superstar Tim McGraw, expressed his excitement for “our baby girl’s first single” earlier this week. Tim shares his 23-year-old daughter with fellow icon Faith Hill, along with her two older sisters Maggie McGraw, 26, and Gracie McGraw, 28.

In addition to her debut single, McGraw shared on Friday that she’s performing on Grammy winner Brandi Carlile’s “The Lost Time Tour” as a special guest in International dates. McGraw said she’s “speechless, truly.
