Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura's parents once forked over $20,000 to Sean "Diddy" Combs after the mogul threatened to release explicit videos of their daughter.

On Tuesday, May 20, Cassie's mother, Regina Ventura, was called to the witness stand during Combs' sex trafficking trial in New York City. During her testimony, Ventura told the court everything she remembers about her daughter's relationship with Combs. She said she first met the music mogul in 2006 after he signed Cassie to Bad Boy Records. She also recalled the sickening email Combs allegedly sent her daughter, in which he threatened to release two sex tapes from their freak offs.

“I was physically sick,” Regina said, according to E! News. “I did not understand it, the sex tape threw me. He was trying to hurt my daughter. He wanted $20,000 because she was having a relationship with Scott Mescudi.”

Mrs. Ventura claimed Combs requested the money to recoup from his investment in her daughter's music career. However, she also corroborated Cassie's claim that Combs threatened her after he found out about her relationship with Kid Cudi. Ventura explained how she and her husband went to a bank to take out a home-equity loan to meet Combs' demands. When asked why they took out the loan, Ventura reportedly said, "For the safety of my daughter."

The Venturas followed the instructions Combs' bookkeeper had sent them. They wired the money from a credit union to an account associated with Bad Boy Records. Cassie's mom explained the money reappeared in her account five days later. She also said she personally documented the injuries her daughter allegedly suffered at the hands of Combs. She claimed she took photos of the bruises and welts on the singer's body, which were shown in court.

“She was bruised and I wanted to make sure we memorialize it," Ventura said.

Following questioning from the prosecution, Combs' legal team declined to cross-examine Ventura. Cassie's mom testified days after her daughter spent most of last week testifying about her grueling experiences with Combs during their 10-year relationship. Kid Cudi is also expected to testify this week.

Combs is facing five counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, racketeering and sex trafficking. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges. The trial is expected to last until July 4. If convicted, Combs could face life in prison.
