ERNEST shared a clip of the most nerve-racking performance he’s ever delivered.

The Cadillac Sessions artist agreed to a request he received from Grammy-nominated country singer-songwriter Jamey Johnson to sing the first dance song at Johnson’s wedding with now-wife Brittney Eakins. ERNEST shared a screenshot of the text exchange with Johnson when he asked the Tennessee-born artist to perform “Look At You Girl” by Chris LeDoux.

“I’m going to my hotel room with the guitar now to see how comfortable I can get with it,” ERNEST responded. “Would it just be me and acoustic? I’ll give you a solid answer by the end of the day, I do not wanna f*** up your first dance song LMAO.”

Johnson said “it’s a tradition with me. I’ve sang that song at so many weddings. You’re the only one I know that would appreciate the tradition and do it the justice it deserves.” He added in a separate message, “I’d sing it to her myself but I gotta do all the manual labor on this job myself.”

“I have played some nerve racking moments. But singing the first dance song for [Jamey Johnson] takes the (wedding) cake,” ERNEST wrote in his caption as he shared a clip of the performance and the text messages on Instagram. He followed his initial post with the full performance video, and said the performance was “an honor.” Watch it here:
