Hugh Jackman is allegedly "disappointed" about the comment his estranged ex-wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, made earlier this week after she filed for divorce.
On Wednesday (May 28) an anonymous source told The Daily Mail that the Wolverine actor was "extremely disappointed" and "blindsided" by Furness's statement citing "betrayal." The source explained that Jackman was "caught off guard" by comments the actress made as "there was an unwritten understanding that she would not trash him to the press" following their separation in 2023.
Furness recently told The Daily Mail that she has "traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal," and is "grateful" for the lessons she's learned.
"My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however; I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. We are drawn to people. We invite them in in order to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts of ourselves. I remain grateful."
The former couple were married for nearly three decades before splitting two years ago, and share children Oscar, 25, and Ava, 19. Jackman is currently dating actress Sutton Foster, and the pair recently moved into his house in New York, per Page Six. The outlet also received word from one of the actor's friends, Australian radio personality Gus Worland, who said things between the exes have been difficult for the last two years and that they're "going to get through this as well as possible."
