ZZ Top is heading out on a North American tour on Sunday (June 1), and their longtime drummer Frank Beard will be joining them after being absent during international tours earlier this year.

“We’re happy that Frank is back with [bassist] Elwood [Francis] and yours truly, BFG," Billy Gibbons said in a statement, revealing Beard had been dealing with ankle and foot issues. "We missed him and are looking forward to turning it up and rocking out with him as has been the case for the last few hundred or so decades. His complete recovery is cause for celebration and that’s just what we intend to do on an open-ended basis. Welcome back, pardner!”

The 75-year-old drummer, who's been in the lineup since 1969, added: "It’s good to be back. See you out there.”
