Update On Stefon Diggs' Status With Patriots Amid Controversy

New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs returned to the team on Monday (June 2), less than one week after being absent from voluntary organized team activity amid controversy.

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels confirmed that Diggs, 31, was in attendance before he participated in workouts and said he was keeping up on the information he was given but was "not concerned about Stef in that regard" via reporter Phil Perry.

Last week, Diggs was seen flashing an unidentified pink substance while surrounded by three women on a boat in a video that went viral on social media this week.

"It's something we're aware of and obviously we want to make great decisions on and off the field," said head coach Mike Vrabel at the time via ESPN. "... Any conversations that I've had with Stefon will remain between him and I and the club."

Vrabel confirmed that he's been in contact with Diggs as he has with the entire Patriots roster. The former All-Pro receiver signed a three-year, $69 million contract with New England in March.

Diggs, whose lone season with the Houston Texans was cut short in Week 8 due to a torn ACL, was present for at least one of the Patriots' voluntary practices last week amid his ongoing rehabilitation, according to ESPN.

"The timelines, and the prognosis, we're working hard to get him back and be ready to go. When he's here, we'll coach him and have him ready to go," said Vrabel while answering one of six consecutive questions regarding Diggs via ESPN.

The Patriots ranked last among NFL teams with 1,723 receiving yards, as well as 28th in receptions (161), tied for 28th in receiving touchdowns (10) and tied for last in first downs (78) in 2024.
