Holy, Friedl! Reds hang on to beat Brewers
June 4, 2025
Reds 4 Brewers 2
Holy!
Leading 4-2 with two outs in the 9th, TJ Friedl climbed above the wall to rob Jake Bauers of a game-tying two-run homer to secure victory.
Pinch-hitter Connor Joe's 7th inning sacrifice fly had broken the tie, and Will Benson's 8th inning solo blast added a big insurance run as the Reds (30-32) halted a three game skid.
They snapped the Brewers eight game win streak and will try to prevent the Brewers from winning a 12th consecutive series against them Wednesday.
An Elly De La Cruz throwing error with two outs in the 9th had brought the tying run to the plate.
