HAIM is a rock band that doesn't feel like they're embraced by the rock community, and quite frankly "quit caring about that s**t."

The sister trio spoke to GQ about their upcoming fourth studio album, aptly titled I Quit and during the conversation they spoke about how they like to dance onstage—something they believe they receive criticism for from rock fans.

“That’s where it gets lost in the sauce with people,” Alana admitted.

“Even though we’re a rock band, we love movement,” said Danielle.

Prince danced”. Alana pointed out. “I mean, Talking Heads—movement.”

Danielle went on to note that dancing and having fun onstage is “such an important part for” the band. “I don’t know if the rock community…” she begins before Alana chimes in to finish her sentence: “Takes that as a weakness. I don’t know why.”

They also spoke about how men accuse them of not playing live because their instruments aren't plugged into amps with cables. “It’s always a guy,” Este said.

“It’s like, my dog, we’re playing with wireless," Danielle added. "Are you a f**king idiot?”

“It goes back to what we said," Alana continued. "We love to dance and we love to make people laugh, and for some reason that’s a no-go.”

“I think it’s all quite antiquated,” Este declared. “The whole setup is… who gives a s**t about that? It’s really old school. We quit caring about that s**t.”

I Quit is slated for a June 20 release. HAIM hit the road for tour on June 6. See a full list of tour dates on their official website.
