131st edition of My Random Thoughts: Sports, TV, music, food, life.....

We finally had the Publix Chicken Tender Sub. It matched the hype.

I was born in Ashland, KY.

We've never ranked our beers, but if we did, 'Smokestack' at Cartridge Brewing would be an easy Top 10, if not higher.

I thought I was really styling when I wore my Reds batting glove giveaway during knothole games.

We always jumped out the back of the bus on the last day of school. Did anyone else do that?

We continue to collect experiences. Saturday night at Fox Hollow Rodeo was an experience!

I can't imagine owning a baseball team that averaged 76 wins a season over the last quarter century.

What an honor to interview Baseball Hall of Famer Joe Torre this week. He's one of those guys I was actually kind of nervous to talk with.

Shout out Jeff Ross of Roscoe's pizza in Corwin, OH. He was so kind to introduce himself when we ran into him last week. We enjoyed sitting and talking with him about the business.

I saw a massive box of Freezer Pops on sale at Walmart. My childhood summers flashed before my eyes.

My high school, Carmel HS (Indiana) just had a graduating class of......1,334!

I've never seen Kill Bill: Vol. 1. Worth watching?

Tyrese Haliburton made Kelly and me jump from under the bed covers for the second time in 10 days. I felt like Dennis Hopper in Hoosiers.

The Automated Ball Strike system coming in 2026 won't be perfect. But it will be consistent.

A CFB playoff that offers four automatic spots to a conference would make the list of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard of. Do we want a playoff, or an invitational?

The APBA cards of Wade Boggs and Tony Gwynn were incredible.

Top 5 frustrating things: Trimmer line

The College World Series remains unchecked on my Sports Bucket List.

Terry Francona hasn't seemed to be on top of his game, really, since Opening Day with the Ian Gibaut decision. I hope he's OK.

I watched a 1977 live performance of 'Take It To The Limit', with Randy Meisner on lead. Just a masterful performance.

A Hall of Famer that still doesn't get enough love: Paul Molitor. 1 of 5 players in history with 3,000+ hits, .300+ career average, 500+ career SB.
He also had 605 doubles, 234 homers and was better his final 12 seasons than his first nine seasons.

I'm really happy for the Pacers, the fans, city of Indianapolis and state of Indiana.

My weight has not fluctuated more than four pounds over the last dozen years.

New song I love: Josh Ross, 'Single Again'

Eight years ago today Scooter Gennett belted four homers. What an odd and fast career fade away for that guy.

I watched Tennessee softball pitcher Karlyn Pickens throw 76-77 mph last week...from 43 feet. That's gotta be 100+ mph for a MLB pitcher, right?

Props to my Facebook page moderators. They've taken steps to clean up/clear out the page. The tone of conversation is not nearly as caustic and personal as it was getting. Still a work in progress, but thank you for following and engaging.
