Just One Thing: Boulder "Run for Their Lives" brings thousands

Yesterday, a week after a cretinous anti-Semite illegal alien tried to firebomb mostly-elderly peaceful folks walking on Pearl Street Mall in support of bringing home the Gaza hostages, the Mall was the fullest I've ever seen it. Had to be at least a few thousand people between Broadway and 14th street including Jews and non-Jews, politicians, plenty of law enforcement, and just so many people showing their support for the hostages, for Jews, and for Israel.

Hard to imagine how anyone could have done more to rally support for the people he mindlessly hates -- and without successfully killing anyone. What an incredible "own goal". I hope he burns in hell with the everlasting memory of his failure.

I hope the attacker never forgets that his attack literally and figuratively backfired.

Sunday's Run for Their Lives was the safest place in Colorado. (I was armed but I knew going in that it was quite unnecessary.)

There were just a couple of anti-Semites pretending not to be. Here, a pro-Israel young woman debates a masked asshat who makes the mendacious claim that anti-Zionism is different from anti-Semitism. Maybe (but only maybe) it used to be, but in 2025 they are one and the same.

Today's Guests

Michael Walsh is a best-selling author of both fiction and non-fiction. His new book, "A Rage to Conquer: Twelve Battles That Changed the Course of Western History," is a remarkable read. Important history told through exciting stories, elite erudition, and even a glimpse into the author's own opinion -- such as that America has not since Patton had serious military leaders who knew what victory meant and what it took to achieve it. (I wonder what ADM Stavridis will say about this.) This is a book that is simultaneously thoroughly enjoyable while also reminding me of how little I know.

Michael was the classical music critic for Time Magazine, something which comes through quite clearly in the new book, which you might find surprising.

Dr Liberty Vittert Capito is a Professor of the Practice of Data Science at the Olin Business School at the Washington University in St. Louis, and is a senior fellow at Harvard and MIT. She’s probably one of the world’s only great statisticians and data scientists who has a degree from one of the best cooking schools in the world. We'll discuss a piece she wrote for The Free Press entitled "Why I Left the UN Fundraising Group My Father Helped Found"

From a news story about the anti-Semitic troll known as Greta Thunberg, "Francesca Albanese, United Nations' special rapporteur on human rights in the Palestinian territories, also urged other boats to challenge the Gaza blockade. She said on social media: 'Madleen's journey may have ended, but the mission isn't over. Every Mediterranean port must send boats with aid & solidarity to Gaza.'"

Congressman Gabe Evans (R-CO8) joins us to talk about a resolution he introduced in Congress that seems like it shouldn't be controversial but is (because of the significantly anti-Semitic and anti-Israel portion of the Democratic Party base.)

Other Stuff

For the first time since 1965, the president has deployed the National Guard without the request of a governor. It's not entirely clear that such a move is legal, especially without invoking the Insurrection Act (which Trump has so far not invoked in this situation), but that question is unlikely to be answered before the deployment has occurred, or even before it's finished. The purpose of the deployment is to stop the assaults against federal immigration agents and other law-enforcement as pro-illegal-immigrant rioters attack officers with rocks, bottles, chunks of cinderblock, commercial-grade fireworks, and more. Trump claims, and he's probably right, that state and local law enforcement isn't doing enough. Meanwhile, FBI director Kash Patel is making it very clear that the feds will prosecute anyone who attacks federal personnel or property.

A Fox News reporter's car was destroyed by protester...I don't know if it's this car, though:

Oddly enough, Trump posted on social media "Great job by the National Guard in Los Angeles after two days of violence, clashes and unrest." The reason it was odd was that the Guard had not yet actually deployed on the ground in LA.

He added, "These Radical Left protests, by instigators and often paid troublemakers, will not be tolerated. Also, from now on, masks will not be allowed to be worn at protests. What do these people have to hide, and why?” I share the view that masks in these situations are nothing more than trying to hide one's identity in order to commit crimes (or at least engage in behavior likely to get one fired.) But I don't think there's any way the federal government has the authority to ban masks in protests.

California Governor and likely presidential candidate, the smarmy Gavin Newsom said "The federal government is taking over the California National Guard and deploying 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles—not because there is a shortage of law enforcement, but because they want a spectacle.” That's probably half-true. It's not that there's too little law enforcement in LA; it's just that they're not stopping the chaos. It was reported early Sunday that two LA County Sheriff's deputies were injured (though not seriously.) And of course Trump always wants a spectacle.
