AJ McLean is preemptively warning any boy who plans to date his daughters.
The Backstreet Boys singer appeared on a recent episode of Trisha Paytas' podcast Just Trish where he shared his disbelief that his youngest daughter seemingly is already interested in boys and even has a boyfriend. McLean shares daughters Elliott, 12, and Lyric, 7, with estranged wife Rochelle, per People.
"My youngest apparently has a boyfriend. I'm like, 'No. You don't.' She doesn't. And then one of her other girlfriends is dating the same boy," he said. "I'm like, 'What is wrong with you guys?' Like, no."
The Building the Band host, 47, also explained that he has a message for daughters' future boyfriends, telling Paytas that he has passed on "the best advice" to his oldest daughter that he got from fellow father and *NSYNC member Joey Fatone.
"So I told my oldest, I said, 'When you do go on your first official date, whether it's to the movies or it's the mall, and the boy comes to pick you up as he should, I want you to say these exact words to him before you leave my house,'" he said. "I said, 'You need to tell him to his face, whatever you do to me, my dad's gonna do to you.' Simple as that. And hopefully, put the fear of God in him."
McLean suggested his heavily-tattooed appearance could play in his favor, though only to an extent.
"Because I thought in the back of my mind, I could tell that little boy, like, 'Hey. See all these tattoos? I got these in prison,'" he said. "But all he has to do is Google me and be like, 'You're in a boy band. You never went to prison.' Like, damn it. You're right. I didn't."
