Macklemore's home in Seattle was invaded by masked robbers who ambushed his children's nanny while they were sleeping.
The invasion happened early Saturday morning, June 7. According to TMZ, two masked men entered the home through the patio door and sprayed the nanny in the face with bear mace. The nanny said the men screamed "Where are the jewels b***h?!" before she led them to a bedroom. She claimed one of the men looked "scared" after she was maced and even helped clean her eyes afterward. Nonetheless, the robbers swiped thousands of dollars worth of jewelry, shoes and other possessions.
The nanny said she had just put the kids to bed before the robbers broke in. After swiping the items, one of the thieves stole her phone and pushed her to the ground. He kept one boot pressed against her neck, but she was able to bite him and escape the home. She ran to Mack's neighbors and knocked on doors before someone finally let her in to call the police.
After the nanny escaped, the two burglars fled the scene. The police arrived soon after and began their investigation. Family members pulled up later on and removed the children from the home. The nanny was able to make it out without any serious injuries. Macklemore wasn't in the state at the time of the robbery. He was in Ireland for a performance. As of this report, Mack has not commented on the situation.
