Recalled Eggs Sold In Washington Could Make You Sick

Nearly 2 million eggs were recalled from stores around the country, including those in Washington, amid an ongoing multi-state salmonella outbreak that poses a "serious" health risk to consumers.

August Egg Company has recalled 1.7 million brown cage free and brown certified organic eggs over a possible contamination with salmonella, according to a recall notice shared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. The recall includes eggs sold under brands Clover, First Street, Nulaid, O Organics, Marketside, Raleys, Simple Truth, Sun Harvest and Sunnyside.

The affected eggs were distributed to Walmart locations in nine states, including Washington, between February 3, 2025, and May 6, and feature a "Sell By" date from March 4, 2025 through June 19, 2025. Additionally, eggs distributed to select retailers in California and Nevada between February 3, 2025, and May 15, 2025, have also been recalled.

The eggs included in the recall will have a plant code number P-6562 or CA5330 and Julian Dates between 32 and 126. Find a full list of recalled products on the FDA's website.

According to the FDA, salmonella can cause "serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems." Symptoms often include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain, but more severe illnesses, such as arterial infections and endocarditis, could occur in rare circumstances.
