Summer is nearly here, a season of sunny days, warm breezes and long-awaited breaks from school, work and everyday life. If you are still figuring out where you would want to go for a weekend getaway or lengthy vacation, you can take a cue from a report that lists two Washington destinations among the best places for a summer vacay.
AAA compiled a list of some of the "best summer vacation spots" for 2025, the destinations that would serve as the perfect getaway with family, friends or even for solo travel. Among the list are two spots in Washington — Seattle and Olympic National Park. Here's what AAA had to say about these popular travel destinations:
"Summer is the perfect time to vacation in Seattle. During this season, things to do in Seattle include relaxing at the beach, hiking mountain trails, whale watching and enjoying a picnic in the park. You'll also find that the weather is warm without being too hot, and many days are sunny. This provides the best views of Mt. Rainier, which can often be hard to see beyond the fog."
"Olympic National Park is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes the United States offers. From breathtaking mountain peaks to dense rainforests, the ecosystems are truly a sight to behold. Other attractions in Olympic National Park include Sol Duc Hot Springs, Lake Crescent and Hurricane Ridge."
