Americans for Prosperity–Ohio Launches “One Small Step” Campaign to Reignite the American Dream and Inspire 250,000 Steps for Freedom

COLUMBUS, OH — As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, Americans face critical choices about the future and how we define our shared identity. At a time when a recent Gallup poll shows that only 58% of U.S. adults say they are proud to be Americans, an all-time low, Americans for Prosperity–Ohio (AFP–OH) is calling on Ohioans to reclaim the promise of the American Dream through action, education, and community engagement.

AFP’s "One Small Step" campaign is about championing a better path forward, one rooted in our founding ideals of freedom and opportunity for all.

This campaign will:

• Educate, inspire, and recruit champions of freedom to join AFP’s expanding network of grassroots activists.
• Strengthen the limited government movement by reminding Americans that transformational change often begins with one small step.
• Spotlight stories of American visionaries, inventors, and entrepreneurs who dared to dream and, in doing so, changed the course of history.
• Inspire a movement of civic action and bold leadership for a brighter future.
• Demonstrate that these small, consistent actions lead to big policy wins—wins that ensure America remains defined by bottom-up opportunity, not top-down government control.

Call to Action: 250,000 Steps for Freedom

AFP–Ohio is challenging residents across the state to take 250,000 Steps for Freedom.  Each “step” is an action—signing a petition, writing a letter to a lawmaker, attending a community event, or talking to a neighbor.
