Billy Idol Finds Out He Fathered A Son On Tour 'Without Knowing It'

Billy Idol's Billy Idol Should Be Dead documentary premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this month and in it the punk icon shared a bombshell: he fathered a son named Brant during his 1985 Rebel Yell Tour "without knowing it."

As Far Out reports, the 69-year-old rocker found out the shocking news thanks to his daughter Bonnie after she received a DNA test for Christmas. “My husband just surprised me with a 23andMe, with a DNA test as a Christmas present,” the 35-year-old recalled in the film. “And then a few weeks later, I get the results back on the app and open it and I’m like, who is this? This Brant. And it says his info’s like, New York, 1985, looking for my bio dad. I was like, ‘What?'”

“I actually had a son that I didn’t realize,” Idol admitted in the documentary, “who I fathered on the Rebel Yell tour without knowing it.”

Brant also recalled his experience in the film, explaining that before the results came back he thought someone else might be his dad. “I was like, ‘Mom, is there a chance Mark might not be my biological father?’" he said, "And she’s like, ‘Well, it’s pretty crazy, but back in the day, we broke up and I actually spent a weekend with Billy Idol.’”
