The search for Travis Decker, the father accused of murdering his three daughters, has intensified as the Chelan County Sheriff's Office assumes the lead role in the investigation. Decker, 32, is wanted for the deaths of his daughters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, whose bodies were found on June 2 near a remote campground in Washington state. The girls were discovered with plastic bags over their heads and zip-tied wrists, with suffocation determined as the cause of death.

Authorities have ramped up efforts, focusing on rugged wilderness areas where Decker, a former Army infantryman with survival skills, was last seen. The search includes aerial surveillance, tracking dogs, and backcountry patrols. The Chelan County Sheriff's Office received a tip from hikers about a lone man near Ingalls Creek who appeared evasive and unprepared for the conditions. A helicopter later spotted a man matching Decker's description near Colchuck Lake, but he fled the scene.

The case has drawn national attention, with the U.S. Marshals offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to Decker's arrest. Governor Bob Ferguson has allocated emergency funds and ordered the Washington National Guard to assist in the search. Law enforcement has warned the public not to approach Decker, who is considered dangerous.

Decker, who has been described as having mental health issues, was last seen during a court-approved visit with his daughters. His ex-wife, Whitney Decker, reported the children missing after they failed to return home. The investigation continues, with authorities urging the public to provide any information that could aid in Decker's capture.
