Skydiving is a popular activity for adrenaline junkies and thrill seekers, but it can also be dangerous. Orlando Bloom is recalling his own "terrifying" experience that had him soaring high above the ocean.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star appeared on the Tuesday (June 10) episode of The Tonight Show where he spoke to host Jimmy Fallon about his skydiving experience after filming his 2024 adventure series Orlando Bloom: To the Edge, per People. Bloom is no stranger to taking a dive, but his 27th jump was quite different than traditional skydiving. What set this dive apart was that he wore a wingsuit that helped him soar through the air over the ocean for about five miles.

"That is scary," he said. "It's the fastest you can be propelled as a human being on the planet without an engine or something. And you literally feel like you're flying."

Even with all the extensive training, preparations and safety precautions, he explained how things could still go very wrong at the drop of a hat.

"If you even move your foot slightly, you could go into a tumble. And then the fear is you tumble, and then you've go to pull a chute. And then you're upside down, and then you've got to pull a chute again," he said. "It can go south very fast."

Elsewhere in the interview, the Lord of the Rings actor brought out his "emotional support animal" amid his rumored relationship woes with fiancée Katy Perry.
