A car drove through a crowd of protesters in downtown Chicago on Tuesday (June 10), during a demonstration against recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities. The incident occurred near Monroe and State streets, where protesters had briefly stopped. A woman driving the car veered left down a nearby street, forcing protesters to scramble out of the way. Fortunately, Chicago fire officials reported that no one was transported to hospitals, although one woman was seen being helped to her feet.

The Chicago Police Department is investigating the incident and has not yet determined whether the driver will face charges. Chicago Alderman Raymond Lopez expressed his frustration on social media, criticizing those who downplay property damage during protests. The demonstrations are in response to ICE raids in Los Angeles, which resulted in the arrest of hundreds of individuals, including many with criminal histories.

The demonstration was part of a broader campaign called "From LA to Chicago: ICE Out!" which has sparked protests across several cities, including Los Angeles and Asheville, North Carolina. The protests in Chicago remained mostly peaceful, but some demonstrators clashed with police and vandalized vehicles, leading to temporary suspension of public transportation downtown.
