Rolling Loud plans to strengthen its global influence by bringing its popular hip-hop music festival to India.
On Thursday, June 12, Rolling Loud announced their plans to launch Rolling Loud India. Their goal is to embrace the country's thriving rap scene, including its popular subgenres like Punjabi hip-hop, Haryanvi hip-hop, and Malayalam hip-hop. The festival achieved plenty of success with other international locations, including Portugal, Austria, Toronto, Australia, Germany, Rotterdam, and, most recently, Thailand.
“We never imagined Rolling Loud would take us all the way to India — it’s incredible," Rolling Loud co-founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif said in a statement.
"The hip-hop scene in India has been booming, and bringing the festival to India felt like the right decision," they continued. "We’re excited to create a space where Indian fans can celebrate the artists they love, while also introducing international acts to a new audience. For us, it’s always been about building community through hip-hop — and we can’t wait to experience how India shows up.”
Rolling Loud India will be a two-day event in Mumbai produced in partnership with the District app. The festival's organizers haven't revealed specific details like dates, the venue, or performers. However, they have confirmed that tickets for the upcoming festival will be available exclusively through the District app.
“India’s hip-hop scene is on fire right now, it’s raw, it’s real, and it’s ready," said Rahul Ganjoo, CEO of District by Zomato. "Rolling Loud coming to India isn’t just another festival drop; it’s a cultural shift. For years, we’ve felt the need to bridge India’s sound with the global stage, and this is that moment. It’s bigger than music, it’s a loud, undeniable signal that Indian hip-hop is here, it’s global, and it’s got something to say. We’re proud to bring this home.”
Rolling Loud's previous event in California featured headlining performances by Playboi Carti, A$AP Rocky, and Peso Pluma. The festival also celebrated its 10th anniversary with historic events in Los Angeles and Miami. Stay tuned for more updates on Rolling Loud India coming soon.
