On Monday (June 16), an Israeli airstrike targeted the studio complex of Iran's state news channel, IRINN, during a live broadcast. The attack, which occurred amid escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, was captured on a live feed as a loud explosion interrupted the program, causing dust and debris to fill the studio and forcing the anchor to flee the scene.

The strike is part of a series of retaliatory actions between the two countries, following Israel's preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities last week. The conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with at least 224 people killed and over 1,200 injured in Iran, and 24 deaths and over 500 injuries reported in Israel.

The airstrike on IRINN was preceded by Israeli military warnings urging residents of northern Tehran to evacuate. In response, Iran's Revolutionary Guard has issued similar warnings to Israeli citizens, indicating that further retaliation is imminent.

The ongoing hostilities have raised fears of a broader regional conflict. Despite international calls for diplomacy, including remarks from President Donald Trump urging both nations to engage in talks, neither Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi nor Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has shown a willingness to negotiate a ceasefire.
