Kelly Clarkson usually "takes forever" to write a song, but, in 2013, the stars aligned, and she wrote a hit in record time!
The "Since U Been Gone" songstress zoomed in on a track that took her almost no time to create during a recent "Ask Kelly Anything" segment of her eponymous talk show.
"A Christmas song. It was 'Underneath the Tree.' I was working with Greg Kurstin in the studio." According to People, Clarkson also wrote "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" with Kurstin, among other hits.
She continued, explaining just how quickly the Wrapped In Red track came to her.
"I ordered sushi, and when it arrived, I had written it. I think because I really love Christmas. I write them really quickly for Christmas — because they feel good, because you can be a little cheesy, you know? You don’t have to worry about being cool, which honestly that’s not a concern generally ever because I’m not."
While "Underneath The Tree" was crafted in a flash, the "Because of You" hitmaker assured that she spent considerably more time writing her other chart-toppers.
"They don’t all come out like that, though; usually it takes forever. But that one was quick."
