Shots Fired At Clearwater Police Station

(Clearwater, FL) -- A Polk County man is accused of firing shots at a police substation in Pinellas County. It happened yesterday morning in Clearwater at a substation on Clearwater Beach on Bayway Boulevard. Clearwater Police Chief Eric Gandy says Gamaliel Reyes fired shots from his car, drove away, called 9-1-1 and confessed. He was taken into custody. Reyes is facing charges that include criminal mischief. No one was hurt, but a bullet hit an unoccupied police car.

Deadly Stabbing In Miami-Dade County

(Miami, FL) -- A man is dead and another is hurt after a stabbing in Miami-Dade County. It happened yesterday morning near Bird Road and Southwest 112th Ave. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office says three people were arguing when two were stabbed. Both were taken to the hospital where one passed away. The other is in stable condition. Deputies say a suspect is in custody. No one has been identified.     

Four Miami Police Officers Suspended

(Miami, FL) -- Four Miami Police officers are suspended and under investigation for illegal activity. CBS News Miami reports all are members of the internal affairs unit. Two are police officers, one is a sergeant, and one is a lieutenant. The two police officers reportedly failed a drug test. 7News reports the investigation is connected to the arrest of former Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office Deputy Francisco Melo. He was arrested five months ago for allegedly selling drugs. The investigation into the MPD officers reportedly started three months ago after a woman who once dated one of the officers came forward.

Alligator Owner Told To Leave Fairfax County, VA Hotel

(Fairfax County, VA)-- The Fairfax County, Virginia Police Department is confirming an alligator sighting at a motel in the Huntington area. Officers were called out early yesterday after a guest spotted the alligator outside their room. Officers who went to the motel quickly found the gator, which was estimated to be about six feet long, weighing somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 pounds. The owner of the reptile was apparently taking it from New York to a zoo in North Carolina. State law prohibits the possession of some exotic animals, so police wound up escorting the animal and its owner out of the county.

Jaws Streaming For 50th Anniversary

(Undated) -- Fifty years after it scared people right out of the water, Jaws is coming to streaming. The Steven Spielberg-directed thriller is now on Peacock to celebrate its anniversary, along with the rest of the franchise, Jaws 2, Jaws 3 and Jaws: The Revenge. Jaws also comes back to theaters August 29th through September 4th.

1994, O.J. Simpson was charged with two counts of murder for the death of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. After he failed to surrender, the nation began seeing live telecasts of a slow-speed police chase on California freeways, which lasted for more than 60 miles. He later surrendered at his estate. Simpson was tried and acquitted of the killings.
