Rod Stewart Reveals Surprising Pre-Show Ritual

Rod Stewart has been performing for 60 years, so you would think he knows a thing or two about keeping vocal chords healthy. While most singers keep their vocal chords loose with tea or hot water with lemon and honey, the iconic singer-songwriter's pre-show ritual is a bit less conventional.

“I always have a little gargle before I go on: rum and Coke,” the 80-year-old divulged to Radio Times ahead of his Glastonbury set. “Been drinking that 40 years. I never drink it any other time… The vocal cords need a lot of looking after. I mean, they’re absolute gold.”

Stewart was recently forced to cancel some dates of his Las Vegas residency while he recovered from the flu. See the rest of his 2025 North American tour dates below.
