3.8 Magnitude Earthquake Reported In US

A 3.8-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska on Wednesday (June 18), according to the United States Geological Survey.

The earthquake was centered near Cantwell at a depth of 87.5 kilometers (about 54 miles). The USGS said it received three reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication.

The Alaska earthquake was reported three days after a 5.6-magnitude earthquake was reported in Peru on Sunday (June 15), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered near Callao at a depth of 53.5 kilometers (about 33 miles).

The Peru earthquake was reported four days after a 4.7-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska on Wednesday (June 11), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered near Adak at a depth of 27.1 kilometers (about 17 miles).

The Adak earthquake was reported one hours after a 4.1-magnitude earthquake was reported in Alaska on Tuesday (June 10), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered near Skwentna at a depth of 15.2 kilometers (about 9.4 miles).

The Alaska earthquake was reported hours after a 3.4-magnitude earthquake was reported in Nevada on June 9, according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered near Rachel at a depth of 4.3 kilometers (about 2.8 miles).

The Nevada earthquake was reported hours after a 6.3-magnitude earthquake was reported in Colombia on June 8, according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered near Paratebueno at a depth of 10 kilometers (about 6.2 miles).
