133rd edition of My Random Thoughts: Sports, TV, music, food, life.....

27 years ago today, I married my best friend and love of my life. I can't imagine my life and this journey without her. Happy Anniversary, Kelly.

I once had hiccups for 36+ consecutive hours. I missed a radio show, as a result. Talk about sore ribs.

My dad reminds me, after reading a recent Random Thoughts, I also lived in Flatwoods, KY for about a year after I was born in Ashland.

Seems to me, the best/fairest/most fan friendly way to handle ballpark giveaways is to have one for every fan with a ticket. Use leftovers for various organizational events.

Things I learned at our iHeart/Bengals luncheon this week: Dan Hoard has never seen the TV series Friday Night Lights. Ken Broo has never seen Seinfeld.
Oh, come on!

Oh, that feeling of panic when you've managed to screw up your phone's texting keyboard, and the language has switched to Boarisch. Then, thinking only your kids will be able to fix it. PS....I did figure it out. But Boarisch?

Front porch. Sunset. Cold beer or ice tea. Listening to America's "Ventura Highway" ....try it.

Kelly and I met when she was my intern at CLTV in Chicago.

It makes me sad to think this weekend is likely the final gathering of the Big Red Machine. That's the team of my youth.

Keith Urban always seems to appreciate the financial/time commitment fans make. He wants you to get your money's worth. And has a blast performing.

The Reds are not fine when playing well, nor awful when playing poorly. The team is a slightly +/-.500 level team. They need more help.

When they used to hand out All-Star ballots in our row at Riverfront, I'd grab a big stack and punch 'em out, leaving a big pile of 'chads' on the ground.

Call me stunned that over 56% of people in my X poll this week said they believe in jinxes. Really?

Every time we leave Riverbend, we pass the Grove Park Grille, and think we should go. Have you ever been?

I mowed to a draw this week. I got the yard. The heat got me. Series even. Another home match expected soon.

I just can't bring myself to spend money on a beer at GABP.

My suggestion for a wedding cake was a giant baseball glove cake with bride & groom figures in the middle of it and the words 'what a catch.'
I'll never forget the look of horror on the faces of Kelly and her mom. Then, they surprised me by having the cake made for our rehearsal dinner!

I love the fact the Bengals are staying. But I never thought they were leaving.

Recent conversation I had with Jackie Riedy: If there is a MLB lockout after the '26 season (there will be), couldn't you see a network doing a TV deal with the Savannah Bananas and their expanding league of teams?

We are new fans of two bands we enjoyed at the Keith Urban Riverbend show: Chase Matthews and Alana Springsteen.

We got married at Jake's On The Lake in Lake Tahoe. When I was working with Bob Trumpy, he always insisted it was a biker bar. It was not.

I'm happy for Eugenio Suarez. What a season. But there's a lot of fan revisionist history going on. Suarez hit .199 over his final two seasons w/ Reds.

Before asking Kelly out on our first date, I called and hung up three times out of nervousness. We saw the movie Indecent Proposal.

Keith Urban's second curtain call song was "You Get What You Give" by New Radicals. I loooooooove that song!

The Arch in St. Louis is a stunning structure. Breathtaking up close. I touched it. But no way I was taking a ride up in that thing. Nope.

My dad recently revealed when our family dog passed away years ago, he transported it back from New Jersey (where he was living) to Cincinnati (for burial) inside a suitcase and styrofoam. Wait. What?

I still can't believe I married a 49ers fan.

We've converted from hotel people to Airbnb people. One of many reasons is parking charges at hotels. Ridiculous.

I've gone over 3,000 thoughts offered on these 133 editions of Random Thoughts. Going forward, I'll be posting, as the name indicates, randomly.
I can't thank you enough for the support and passion you have offered this feature. It's the most enjoyable feature I've ever created.

Don't worry about things you don't care about
