THE NYC DEM CANDIDATE FOR MAYOR IS A COMPLETE IDIOT I didn't talk much about Zohran Mamdani, the Democrat candidate (and presumed general election winner) for NYC Mayor. But holy cow this guy is a clown. Check this out:

He's play acting poverty. Nice. Where is the Left calling him out for cultural appropriation? But you've got to hand it to Scott Jennings, who is clearly enjoying a little too much the Democrats of CNN trying to defend his insane policies.

How bad are his policies? He wants to raise taxes on WHITE NEIGHBORHOODS. Lest you think I'm misrepresenting that, check this out:

This columnist says Mamdani's policies will be a return to the "bad old days" and he's not wrong but I have a hard time feeling sad for New Yorkers, they keep doing this to themselves. My issue is that if this clown wins, expect a Socialist to be the next mayor of Denver making all these same dumbass promises. If you think Denver is mismanaged now (and it is) just wait. It can get so, so much worse. He's even suggesting City run grocery stores. Because those have traditionally done so well. Look, here's what that might look like!

DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS I talked about the scheme set up by Denver Public Schools where they "sell" school facilities to an "outside" organization and then leases them back. It's shady as hell and DPS is hellbent on continuing the practice. They are being sued over it, and are now trying to argue that the outside organization is both a public entity and not a public entity. I'll let the Denver Gazette explain:

After arguing in court filings that its lease-financing structure is legal because a nonprofit organization — not the district — incurred the debt without voter approval, Denver Public Schools now contends the same corporation is a “public entity” entitled to governmental immunity from lawsuits.

The contradiction is more than semantics.

If the Denver School Facilities Leasing Corporation (DSFLC) is deemed a public entity, it would be subject to Colorado’s open records and public meetings laws, an attorney and a watch dog group said.

See, DPS has denied public records requests by arguing the DSFLC is NOT a public entity and therefore not subject to Open Records Requests. But now they are arguing it is. They can't have it both ways but I expect nothing from this incompetent Superintendent.

DICK WADHAMS ON DELUSION IN THE GOP If you run into Douglas County Commissioner George Teal please thank him for the belly laugh I got when he said that Chinese Communists were the ones funding the campaign against the rushed Home Rule initiative he instigated. He did this so he didn't have to answer any questions about who funded HIS side of the discussion if you ask me. Now Dick Wadhams does the Greatest Hits version of the Colorado Republican Party Conspiracy Theories and how those have worked out. I'm not sure how so many nutbars have gotten into power positions in Colorado but here we are.

ABOUT THIS GAY BAKERY It's Pride Month so it's not surprising to me that we see stories featuring gay owned businesses. But something in this story caught my eye about a gay owned bakery:

Fundraising efforts? Aren't you an up and running commercial business? Isn't "fundraising" at this point supposed to be profit? I'm genuinely confused by this.

That may be the reason that Secretary of State Marco Rubio is reviewing his visa application. Rubio's office had this to say:

“As a reminder, under the Trump Administration, the U.S. government will not issue visas to any foreigner who supports terrorists,” the senior official said.

Good. It's time there were consequences for such things and I hope the cancellation of all those concerts stings really, really bad.
