Ed Sheeran lived out a childhood dream at a recent concert while experiencing one of his favorite moments "ever" on stage.
The "Azizam" singer took over Volksparkstadion in Hamburg, Germany, over the weekend and brought some special guests along for the ride, per People. Not only did he enlist the help of his childhood band months after they reunited two decades later for a friend's wedding, but he got Wheatus singer Brendan B. Brown to join along as they played his band's 2000 hit "Teenage Dirtbag."
"I've got a really cool surprise for you, it's really quite cool, but bear with me," he told the crowd before Brown appeared on stage for the surprise collab on what he said was "one of my favorite songs of all time."
Sheeran also shared a video of the full-circle moment on Instagram, capturing clips of the band jamming on stage and explaining how the dream became a reality.
"Used to play Teenage Dirtbag with my high school band when I was 12. We reformed after 22 years to play our mates wedding in April, but we had so much fun I asked them to come rock it with me at a stadium," he wrote in the caption. "I cheekily asked Brendan from [Wheatus] to come over and rock it with us, and being the ledge that he is, he did. One of my fav moments ever on stage, thank you Brendan. What a night x."
Sheeran also joined forces with another star earlier this year, popping up at a Nashville dive bar with Noah Kahan for a group singalong with a surprised group of onlookers.
