Marlins 12 Reds 2

Good news: Andrew Abbott found out he was named to the All-Star team during the game.

Bad news: The crucial homestand isn’t going so well. They have been outscored 17-3 in losing the first two games vs the Marlins. Things got so bad Tuesday night that catcher Jose Trevino had to pitch two innings.

The Reds (46-46) have lost four straight, scoring a total of five runs, and dropped six of eight. The Marlins have won 11 straight road games.

They have fallen back to the .500 mark for the 16th time this season.

They actually led 1-0 in the 1st on a Matt McLain homer. But they trailed 7-1 after a seven run third off Nick Martinez. That’s their 19th game lost in which they had a lead, including four straight.
