FOX Sports has reportedly signed top sideline reporter Erin Andrews and host Charissa Thompson to new deals, Front Office Sports reported on Tuesday (July 8).
Both Andrews, 47, and Thompson 43, longtime best friends and co-hosts of the Calm Down podcast, both had their contracts expire after the conclusion of the 2024 NFL regular season and 2025 NFL Playoffs. The two veteran broadcasters are reported to have agreements on lucrative extensions entering the upcoming 2025 regular season, though details have not yet been publicly revealed as of Wednesday (July 9) and neither has publicly acknowledged their reported new deals.
FOX Sports hinted at plans to bring back Andrews when she was included in the 2025 regular season game schedule in May, showing her alongside the rest of the network's A-team crew including analyst Tom Brady, play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt, and reporter Tom Rinaldi. Andrews also represented the network alongside Brady at the 2025 FOX Upfronts event later that month.
The veteran sideline reporter had previously signed a three-year deal with FOX Sports in July 2022. Thompson, who hosts FOX NFL Kickoff, as well Thursday Night Football pregame show for Prime Video, had previously stated her intention to stay at FOX Sports amid rumors claiming the opposite while she and Andrews discussed their Super Bowl coverage on their Calm Down podcast in February.
“No, I am not leaving Fox. I was never leaving Fox,” Thompson said at the time. “I don’t know where this took on a life, whereas I was hosting my family here at the ranch this past weekend, four of my family members asked, ‘Well the place looks nice, but how are you going to afford it now that you don’t have a job?’
“I’m like, ‘Why is this headline out here?’ It’s crazy … I wouldn’t normally address this … but I was never leaving Fox. I’m not fired … I hope I die at [Fox]. As I always talk about, Fox is my longest relationship. I have worked there since I was what, 22 years old starting in the HR department. So yes, I love Fox, I will hopefully end my career there in a long, long time. But anyways, it’s not ending anytime soon. That’s a fake headline.”
