Lil Jon to Perform at NY State Fair on August 26

Hip-hop legend Lil Jon will perform at the New York State Fair on Tuesday, August 26, at 8 p.m. The concert will take place at Suburban Park and is included with the price of daily admission to the fair. Lil Jon, known for his hit song "Turn Down for What," has collaborated with artists like Usher, Ludacris, and TLC.

Lil Jon, whose real name is Jonathan H. Smith, began his career in the early 1990s as a DJ in Atlanta before joining Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def label as a producer. He later formed Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, gaining fame with hits like "Who U Wit?" and "Get Low." He is credited with creating the "crunk" hip-hop sub-genre and has earned numerous awards, including a Grammy and eight Billboard Awards.

The New York State Fair, running from Wednesday, August 20, to Monday, September 1, will feature 41 national recording acts as part of the 2025 Chevrolet Music Series. All concerts, including Lil Jon's performance, are free with fair admission, which costs $8 for adults and is free for children under 12 and seniors over 65.

Julie LaFave, Fair Director, expressed excitement about Lil Jon's performance, noting that hip-hop has been a major draw in recent years. In addition to Lil Jon, other hip-hop acts like Busta Rhymes will also perform during the fair.
