San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Demarcus Robinson was sentenced to three years' probation after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge this week, his attorney, Jacqueline Sparagna, confirmed to on Wednesday (July 9).
Robinson, who signed with the Niners this past offseason, made his plea and was sentenced in Los Angeles on Tuesday (July 8), having been ordered to pay a $390 fine and complete court-mandated programs, which include a three-month alcohol education program, according to court records.
"Mr. Robinson has taken this process extremely seriously by already completing most of the terms of his probation. We expect that his probation will terminate early at the 18-month mark after which his case will be expunged," Sparagna told TMZ Sports.
Sparagna also told the Orange County Register that Robinson's other two charges of driving with a BAC of 0.08 or higher and driving without a valid license were dismissed as part of the sentencing. The wide receiver will be subject to potential punishment by the NFL in adherence with its personal conduct policy.
Robinson, then a member of the Los Angeles Rams, was arrested on November 25, hours after after a Sunday Night Football loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The former Super Bowl champion identified himself during a traffic stop, at which point officers "observed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment" and arrested him.
Robinson was selected by the Chiefs at No. 126 overall in the fourth-round of the 2016 NFL Draft and spent his first six seasons with the franchise, which included winning Super Bowl LIV.
