The United States' largest teachers union was mocked for misspelling "fascism" while attempting to bash President Donald Trump this week.
The National Education Association, which represents more than 3 million teachers across the country, approved a proposal that stated it was pledging "to defend democracy against Trump's embrace of fascism by using the term facism [sic] in NEA materials to correctly characterize Donald Trump's program and actions," as stated in a screengrab of the document shared by conservative pundit Corey DeAngelis.
โThe members and material resources of NEA must be committed to the defense of the democratic and educational conditions required by our hopes for a just society and the survival of civilization itself by stating the truth,โ the business item continued.

The document claimed that calling out Trump's "facism [sic]" in NEA materials โcannot be accomplished with current staff and resourcesโ and said a change would cost an additional $3,500. The spelling error was mocked by DeAngelis and several other conservative pundits on social media.
โYes, the union that claims to represent educators couldnโt even spell โfascismโ correctly in its official resolution attacking the president," DeAngelis wrote in an opinion piece for FOX News published on Thursday (July 10).
If the largest teachers union can't define fascism properly we can all understand clearly why we are failing to teach children in schools.

Number one priority is not to teach reading and math but a political agenda. It's infuriating. https://t.co/ey4Ga8iU7u

Washington state Rep. Jim Walsh (R-19th Dist.) referred to the resolution as "hysterical slander" and used it as an example of why some families would choose to keep their children away from public schools.
A political lobbying organization that claims to represent public school teachers misspells the key word in its hysterical slander of the current POTUS.

It's not spelled "facism," morons.
And you're not using the word correctly, anyway.
No wonder many families are homeschooling. https://t.co/80UKSRlCS3

Trump signed an executive order in March to wind down on the majority of essential operations within the Department of Education, which was blocked by a federal judge in May, and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon moved to let more than 1,300 workers go, which coincided with an estimated 600 leaving voluntarily.
