Miranda Lambert unveiled her first-ever true duet with fellow country giant Chris Stapleton on Friday (July 11).

“A Song To Sing” reflects “the truth of giving one’s soul to the music and heart to the one at home,” reads a press release issued to announce the ballad’s debut. Lambert and Stapleton, two of the most awarded artists in the genre, wrote their collaboration with Jesse Frasure and Jenee Fleenor:

“You are a part of me/ Baby you’re the heart of me/ Together we can write a song to sing/ And in that melody/ Baby you’re the harmony/ That you just can’t find anywhere”

Lambert shared on her Instagram story earlier this week that “Chris understands the emotion of this song from the inside out, because he and Morgane [Stapleton’s wife] have both lived it. To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings, to share the pull of the road and creative life — and what that means when you love someone with every bit of your being is next level. When we finished it, we both knew we wanted to release it, to share it with everyone.”
