Over $113,000 worth of rare Pokémon cards were stolen from 1st Edition Collectibles in New Bedford, Massachusetts, early Tuesday morning (July 8). The shop, located at 752 Purchase St., reported the theft to the New Bedford Police Department. The incident occurred after 2:30 a.m., when someone broke into the store and took the high-value collectibles.
The stolen items include several rare and valuable cards, such as a Base Set Unlimited Green Wings Booster Box, a Neo Revelation Unlimited Booster Box, and multiple Charizard cards with high grades from grading companies like PSA and BGS. The shop owners, William, Filipe, and Sean, have been in business for over four years and are now temporarily closing the store to enhance security measures. William, one of the owners, said, "They definitely knew what they were doing. It had to be planned. They were in and out in like 20 seconds."
The store's surveillance cameras captured a person wearing a hoodie and mask kneeling in front of the glass case containing the cards. The owners have shared the list of stolen items on social media, hoping the community will help identify the stolen cards if they appear on the resale market. The store plans to reopen on Tuesday (July 15).
