7/14/25 Blog: Biden's Autopen In the News, Plus Close Call Stories

July 14, 2025

YESTERDAY WE CELEBRATED CHUCK'S LIFE DAY And I posted this about it:

And in the responses on X and Facebook there was more than one person who hinted that they too had a close call story. I want to hear those today. Boy am I glad Chuck survived his close call.

THE NEW YORK TIMES IS LOOKING INTO BIDEN'S AUTO PEN And though the former President has strongly denied that anyone but him decided to issue thousands of pardons, including pre emptive ones to protect his gang and family, the New York Times is digging in. From the first article:

The Times has reviewed several dozen of those emails, which discussed each of the major grants of clemency that were recorded by an autopen near the end of Mr. Biden’s term. But The Times has not seen the full extent of the emails, so it is impossible to capture the totality of information they contain or what else they might show about Mr. Biden’s involvement in the pardon and clemency decisions. But those that were reviewed by The Times show that that the Biden White House had a process to establish that Mr. Biden had orally made decisions in meetings before the staff secretary, Stefanie Feldman, who managed use of the autopen, would have clemency records put through the signing device.

This as there is a House investigation into the competency of Biden at the end of his term and his use of the autopen to sign all these pardons. The Times goes on to tell us that staff, the same staff who covered up Biden's decline for years, wants us to believe that Biden gave oral approval for all those pardons. Sorry, I don't believe them, but they seem to have covered their tracks with enough paper where they say things like this:

On Oct. 30, 2024, the emails reviewed by The Times show, Mr. Biden’s White House counsel, Ed Siskel, notified senior staff to expect a flood of lobbying for clemency grants at the administration’s end and laid out a process for an orderly review.
The final step, he wrote: “The president makes the final decision on the final pardon and/or commutation slate.”

Does that need to be said? It only does if the President is addled, which they all knew he was. Everyone that had close contact with Joe Biden during his term has already demonstrated themselves to be liar who can't be trusted as they pulled off the biggest con of the century.

WOULD ELON MUSK'S THIRD PARTY FLY HERE? And by here I mean Colorado. My pal Jon Caldara says no here. He's not wrong that a party based on hating the other two parties isn't much of a foundation. I'm trying to get Jon on the show for today.

A TAKEOVER IS AVERTED And I love that members of the community came to the Town Center this weekend to stop teens from doing dumb stuff. Read more here.

STOP LIMITING POLITICAL PARTIES TO STOP SHADY PACS This is a great column by Dick Wadhams about how the Supreme Court needs to undo the rules constraining how much political parties can spend on candidates. The rules kicked in back in 1974 and they have lead to the rise of Super PACs and their shady donor bases filling the gaps once filled by the parties themselves. Read the column here, but it makes sense.

MORE TRUMP TARIFF THREATS And I can't even get upset about this anymore because who knows if they will stick. I sure wish someone with access to Trump would ask what the sticking points for trade negotiations are because I'd like to know exactly what we're after that we're not getting, it would make this all much easier to swallow. Read about new Mexico and EU tariffs here.

THIS COULD BE COOL FOR WESTMINSTER Westminster looks like a bedroom community that sort of appeared rather than having been well planned if you ask me. Now they have a chance to do that over using the old site of the Westminster Mall to create a new downtown for their community and I love this idea. Considering this whole project started 14 years ago and I'm just hearing about it here says they have a marketing issue that needs to be taken care of. Read more here.

THE LEFT DOES POPULATION CONTROL That's the headline of this editorial about the massively slower growth in Colorado as Democrat policies have made everything way more expensive. Read it here.

WE'RE SELLING WEAPONS TO NATO FOR UKRAINE Which I'm fine with. We get paid for them, NATO looks like the hero organization it should be and Ukraine can fight Putin in an effort to force him to the table. Read more here. Trump is meeting with the NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte today to discuss it. It's time NATO lead instead of us leading and NATO standing behind us and yelling at Russia. Trump is also going after nations that are buying Russia's oil by threatening harsh tariffs on countries who buy it, that includes China, Brazil, and India. Without those oil sales it will be damn near impossible for Russia to continue this war. It's unconventional but dang it might work.

I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO STAY THE HISTORIC GRAND CANYON LODGE And now no one can because it was destroyed by wildfires this week, along with 80 other structures and a water treatment plant. Read more here.

IT'S THE ALL STAR BREAK THIS WEEK So let's check in on the hapless Rockies, shall we?

A 2-4 loss on Sunday brings the Rockies’ record to 22-74 for the year, 10 wins back from the next-worst team, the Chicago White Sox, who sit at 32-65.
The Rockies find themselves behind the White Sox as the worst team this year, and if they are not careful, will also find themselves behind the 2024 Sox as the worst team in the modern era of MLB.

So there you are.

TESLA IS ADDING GROK TO ITS CARS and I'm not sure what Grok is going to do in a Tesla but we're going to find out soon I guess. Musk announced each new car would come with the AI integrated soon.

STOP BEING AFRAID And other great advice from a 101 year old man.

TAX THE RICH OF CHERRY CREEK! It's telling that Amanda Sawyer, who is the City Council rep for Cherry Creek, is spinning a new potential taxing district as necessary to "provide services" for Cherry Creek. Like Cherry Creek isn't doing JUST FINE on it's own. Cherry Creek residents need to pay attention to this movement and organize NOW before Denver decides to use you as their cash cow as receipts in Denver continue to fall. This part in the Denver Gazette is my favorite about a recent meeting to gauge interest in a new special taxing district:

Several residents questioned Giellis and Sawyer at a community meeting in May, asking them why the study's survey was prioritizing how their money should be spent over if the tax district idea interests them at all.
It wasn’t until the last question when they were asked whether they wanted to be part of the district or not.
“It should have been the first question,” Busch said.

You've got to get people dreaming about what might be before you can pick their pockets.

ABOUT THAT SO-CALLED STRAWBERRY FARM IN CALIFORNIA By now you probably know that the farm raided last week was not a strawberry farm as Democrats said, but a weed farm that was employing a bunch of unaccompanied illegal immigrant CHILDREN. We know now that one of those "hard working" people also happened to be a child predator. Democrats keep rushing to protect the worst people, you'd think they'd learn by now to take a breath and wait for the facts, but they know most people will read one headline about strawberry farming and move on.

SUPERMAN IS A HIT! And I don't care about the political stuff, I want to see it. It did really well it's opening weekend.

COLORADO HAS THE 11TH BEST BUSINESS CLIMATE From CNBC, which is good! However when you click to get more details about how we fared two things jumped out. Our lousy scores when it comes to Cost of Doing Business and Cost of Living we get failing marks. Both of those things are directly influenced by the policies adopted in this state.

THE IRANIAN PRESIDENT WAS INJURED IN AN ISRAELI ATTACK And this would have been SOMETHING if they had killed him. As it stands he had to escape through an emergency hatch and his leg sustained injuries. Good. I'm glad he was scared.

PAY ATTENTION TO COLORADO'S FIRES As the Governor has declared a disaster for some fires on the Western slope.

THIS MAN IS A FLAMING RECORD HOLDER! And I mean that literally. A French firefighter has set the record for riding a motorcycle while on fire. I won't be trying to break that one.

KIDS ARE EATING NICOTINE PATCHES And if everyone can just remember that kids put EVERYTHING IN THEIR MOUTHS and act accordingly by securing things kids should NOT PUT IN THEIR MOUTHS we wouldn't have a story like this one.

THREE WEEKEND BUSINESSES YOU CAN START

SNOW AND COLD IS MOVING WEST And as this would shore up our water I'm kind of okay with this. Read more here.

CARNIVAL IS MAKING BIG CHANGES Because they've had some serious issues on their ships with some of their guests. This woman explains it in a way white me can't.
