Pharrell Williams has become a knight in France after he was presented with the highest honor in France.

According to a report The Straits Times published on Sunday, July 13, the accomplished artist and fashion designer was one of 589 people to be named knights of the Legion of Honour. Merriam-Webster's defines the Legion of Honour as "a French order conferred as a reward for civil or military merit." The honor was created by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802. It consists of five degrees that are split into three ranks, Chevalier (Knight), Officier (Officer), Commandeur (Commander), and two dignities, Grand Officier (Grand Officer) and Grand Croix (Grand Cross).

Like the rest of the honorees, Pharrell Williams was recognized for his public and cultural service to the French nation. He has made major contributions to the fashion and entertainment industries since he was named Louis Vuitton's Men's Creative Director in 2023. After he relocated to France with his wife and children, Pharrell has hosted several luxurious fashion shows featuring the brand's newest collections worn by the biggest names in Europe and the U.S. He's also collaborated on other projects for French brands including a limited-edition bottle for Moët & Chandon, and jewelry for Tiffany & Co.

Pharrell's latest accomplishment couldn't have come at a better time. He was knighted just days after Clipse's new album Let God Sort Em Out finally arrived on streaming services. Skateboard P executive-produced the entire project and appeared on several songs like "All Things Considered" and "So Far Ahead." Listen to Let God Sort Em Out on iHeartRadio now!
