NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, Angel Reese's longtime mentor and fellow LSU alum, slammed Robert Griffin III for his comments about the WNBA star.

During Tuesday's (July 15) episode of Bailey Jackson's "Off the Record" podcast, O'Neal warned Griffin to stop speaking on Reese after the former NFL quarterback doubled down on his claim that the Chicago Sky forward "hates" fellow WNBA star Caitlin Clark.

“RG3? Tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I’m going to punch you in your f—ing face,” O’Neal said Tuesday. “It’s enough. I don’t usually do stuff like this, but just stop it bro.”

Griffin's comments about Reese date back to May when he claimed she "hated" Clark after the former Iowa star fouled the former LSU Tiger during their WNBA matchup. Despite receiving widespread backlash for his comments, Griffin doubled down on his take in an X post last week, claiming he had confirmed the "hate" after speaking with Reese's "inner circle." The sports commentator also condemned a racist image depicting Reese as a monkey that was circulating online.

“You got your job, you got your podcast,” O’Neal said on Tuesday's podcast episode. “Leave my Angel Reese alone. I’m the one calling her telling her not to respond. F–ing stop it. That’s the last time. OK?”

O'Neal continued to blast the former NFL quarterback over his comments about Reese.

“It’s a shame that all the stuff you did in your life, you’re going to be remembered for your podcast,” the NBA champion said. “That should tell you you’re not that f–ing great. I don’t want to be remembered for Shaq’s ‘Big Podcast.’ I do not. Leave those girls alone.”

“I would respect it more if Lisa Leslie said it, like that’s [women’s basketball players’] category,” O’Neal added. “Stay out of them peoples’ category.”
