Clipse brought tears to the eyes of fans who witnessed their emotional performance of "The Birds Don't Sing."
On Tuesday night, July 15, Pusha T and Malice hit the stage during their appearance on NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." The Thornton brothers opened their performance with photos of their late parents' faces behind them. Timeless images of their mother, Mildred, along with other childhood photos rotate in the background while Push rapped about losing her. Later, Clipse showed throwback photos of their dad, Gene, as Malice rapped about the last words he said.
Pusha T and Malice paid homage to their parents on the intro to their new album Let God Sort Em Out. Clipse lost their mom and dad just four months apart. Their mother passed away in November 2021, and their father died in March 2022. After alluding to it in the song, Malice recently opened up about discovering both his parents after they died.
"I found both of my parents yeah," Malice told Brian "B.Dot" Miller on Cover Lines. "I discovered both of my parents going and checking on them... My faith and everything that I have read from the word of God took over. There was a supernatural sense of peace. There was no time to break down, start crying, getting out of my mind, what's going on, what's happening, you know, screaming and kicking. Nah, I had a complete sense of peace and I had to have that peace not only for myself but to deliver the news to my family. God has never let me down no matter what I faced or seen in this life."
