Funk Legend George Clinton to Perform at NYS Fair

Funk music icon George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic are set to perform at the New York State Fair on Wednesday, August 20, at 6 p.m. on the Chevy Court stage. Known for hits like "Atomic Dog," "Flash Light," and "Knee Deep," Clinton's influence spans across genres such as soul, R&B, and hip-hop.

The New York State Fair is thrilled to feature Clinton's groundbreaking music, which has earned him numerous accolades, including inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame. Fair Director Julie LaFave expressed excitement about Clinton's performance, stating, "There’s no better way to kick off our 13-day run of The Fair than with an artist whose groundbreaking music and vibrant stage presence have left an indelible mark on multiple generations of music lovers."

All concerts at the fair, including the Chevy Court performances, are included with the fair's $8 admission fee. Admission is free for children under 12 and seniors aged 65 and older.

The fair will run from Wednesday, August 20, through Labor Day, Monday, September 1, and will feature over 40 national acts across its two main stages, Chevy Court and Suburban Park. Syracuse.com reported that Clinton's performance is part of the Chevrolet Music Series, which offers a diverse lineup of entertainment throughout the fair's duration.
